The 6 Posts series is a structured game. Using thirty saw cuts to create thirty-six pieces from six wooden posts, each iteration is one possible arrangement out of the unfathomable number of permutations afforded by a simple six by six grid held together with a ratchet strap.

Materials: red pine, ratchet strap.

These posts are held together to make up the sculpture. A wide view showing three similar sculptures of red pine posts cut to five different heights, all held together with safety orange ratchet straps. Each sculpture's arrangement differs: one forms a shape not unlike a seat, one goes from shortest pieces outside to longest pieces inside, and one goes from longest pieces outside to shortest pieces inside. Each sculpture's arrangement differs: the sculpture that faces the viewer forms a shape not unlike a seat, but the view of the other two sculptures is obscured.
